The 2022 Sydney Writers' Festival invited me to participate in the Big Backyard event on Family Fun Day. The brief was to give kids and parents a calm space in amongst the huge crowds and over-stimulation of the festival, to relax and create.

Using some of the amazing wildlife featured in my Rewilding Kids Australia book, I designed activities for kids to colour and construct, making a creature of their very own to take home!

They chose from a peacock spider, an Eastern Blue-tongue lizard or a baby green turtle.
